Governing SharePoint Designer 2010
Page Content
The SharePoint Community has a well-documented love/hate relationship with SharePoint Designer. On one hand you have an extraordinarily powerful tool in which end users can make their own customizations and construct technical solutions to their own business problems. On the other hand you have a tool where users can paste in dangerous scripts and HTML that could put their site, or even your farm, at risk. The goal of this class is to examine the new integration features between SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2010 with a focus on Security and Management of the tools. We’ll be walking through several of use cases and processes surrounding the tool that can provide an organization with a strong foundation for a successful and manageable roll-out of SharePoint Designer to its Developers, Information Workers, and even the occasional End User.
