Reflecting on the past and looking to the future

January 21st marked my one year anniversay of working with SharePoint911.  At the beginning of 2008 I made a post to this blog declaring it would be a good year.  At the time, I had just given my notice to my previous employer that I was leaving to go work for SharePoint911. I knew it would be a good year, but really had no idea about what I was in for.  Overall, I'm not sure 2008 could have been much better.

I'm not going to run through a list of every little thing, but I'll toss out a few quick highlights that I'm proud of.  Most importantly, my wife and I welcomed our daughter Julia in July.  Having a new little one around the house doesn't make things easier but it definitely has it's own rewards that I wouldn't trade for anything.

In 2008 I probably wrote more words than I did in college. In addition to the book mentioned in the previous post, I contributed to another, Professional SharePoint Design. Wrote a few articles here and there and co-authored a training course for the Ted Pattison Group.

For all of the good things, I did fall well short of my original goal of 52 blog posts last year. 30 posts actually, but who's counting?  For this year I'm determined to improve!! More posts on this blog, I'm now a guest blogger on EndUserSharePoint.com (check out the first post), and more Twittering (Tweeting?).

Keep an eye on this space because there's more good stuff on the way.  I know I said that last year, but last year was just the warm up.
