When using the people picker control in an InfoPath form hosted in a SharePoint 2010 site, there are several advanced methods that can be implemented in order to use profile information to pre-populate fields. When your company’s user profile information is accurate, you can do some amazing things with that data. In this fast-paced class, Laura Rogers will go over several demonstrations of common scenarios in which information about people can be used in forms:
- Pre-populate a people picker with the current user's name or their manager's name
- Auto-populate fields with profile information such as Department or phone number
- Enable selections of a form so that only a certain person can see or edit them
- Display the employee's profile picture on the form as they fill it out
- Allow a section of the form to only be seen by a VP
Please note: This class is geared toward users who have either the Standard or Enterprise version of SharePoint 2010 with the user profile service. If you are a WSS 3.0 or SharePoint Foundation user and are interested in this class, let us know by emailing
